Delta Poly’s Olympic size stadium built by Institutions’ Engineers



The Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro’s Olympic size stadium was designed and built by the polytechnic engineers under the inspiration of the Rector, Dr. Jacob Snipps Oboreh. A statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Samuel Oviemuno Onaibre, said the vision for the Olympic size stadium was contemplated in June 2015 during the preparation for Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA) and the project was completed within 11 months.
Mr. Onaibre added that the 14,000 sitting capacity stadium will be commissioned by the Governor Okowa on December 1, 2016.
The stadium has a standard football pitch with flood lights for night events, eight lane designed tracks for athletics events, commentary box public address system, full roof covering and sealed, 139 toilets and 52 urinary spread within the stadium, 15 well furnished dressing rooms and wardrobe with showers, 10 V.I.P lodge with air condition well furnished, 14,000 seats for spectators and well spaced environment for car park.
